Lisa deWolfe

Regional Director – Oceania

Lisa Fitzgerald deWolfe, PA-C, BA, MPAS, currently resides in Aotearoa, New Zealand and serves as the past president and regulation chair of the New Zealand Physician Associate Society. She has played a key role in advocating for growth of the physician associate profession to serve rural communities and to secure regulation for the profession under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act of 2003. Lisa’s clinical work spans family medicine, emergency medicine and urgent care. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Quinnipiac University and a Physician Associate degree from Northeastern University. Lisa is grateful for many opportunities to work abroad throughout her career being enriched by people from diverse cultures. These experiences and connections encouraged the focus of her current work. Since moving to New Zealand in 2016, she has worked in a rural Māori trust clinic in Kaitaia.

Lisa  advocates for improved healthcare access in rural areas and hopes that physician associates will fill a gap to support the workforce and offer a training program for New Zealanders. Her other interest includes supporting education opportunities in India and Nepal, especially for women, recognizing the impact these areas have on global communities.
