Oceania
There are multiple countries identified in the Oceania region with PA/PA Analogue education training and clinical practice. Papua New Guinea began an education program in 1910 with the prior title of medical assistant. The country has converted to the title of health extension officer. Marshal Islands have been training health assistants since 2007 and Australia started a PA education program in 2010. New Zealand has a pilot program with foreign-trained physician associates and has plans to start an in-country education program. More information is needed about other countries to confirm the education of PA/PA Analogues.
