Terms of Service for IAPAE Membership Online Portal

Effective Date: 01st July 2023

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before accessing or using the IAPAE membership online portal (the “Portal”) operated by the International Academy of Physician Associate Educators (IAPAE) (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Membership

1.1. Eligibility: The Portal is available to individuals interested in the field of physician associate education. Membership types include:

Individual Membership
Individual Student Membership
Individual Special Nations Membership
Individual Student Special Nations Membership
Institutional Membership
Corporate Membership

1.2. Membership Benefits: By becoming a member, you will gain access to a range of exclusive benefits, including but not limited to:

a. Networking with a Global Community: Our community online portal, exclusive to members, provides a platform to socialize, connect with colleagues, find a mentor, engage in discussions regarding challenges, and explore potential solutions.

b. Premium Research Papers: Members will have the ability to access an exceptional assortment of scientific research papers and articles created by physician associate professionals, educators, and students from various regions of the globe.

c. Events and Webinars: Members obtain entry to our quarterly webinars and exclusive events hosted by IAPAE to stay informed on the most current education trends and receive up-to-date information on physician associate-related professions.

d. Global Repository & Toolbox: As a member, you have access to the IAPAE Repository of Knowledge, which includes a collection of learning pedagogy templates, articles, past conference proceedings and educational activities crafted by professionals, educators, and students hailing from different regions of the world.

e. Discount on Annual Conferences: All paid members of IAPAE receive a discount on the annual conference registration fee, whether it is for an in-person or virtual event.

f. Premium Cohort-Based Courses: As a member of the IAPAE portal, you will have access to cohort-based online courses that are designed and taught by experienced physician associate educators and professionals.

Registration and User Account

2.1. Account Creation: In order to access the Portal and become a member, you may be required to create a user account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to keep your account information updated.

2.2. Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your username and password. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account or any other security breach.

2.3. User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree not to share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access to the Portal.

User Conduct

3.1. Authorized Use: By accessing the Portal, you agree to use it solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and are solely responsible for any activity that occurs under your account.

3.2. Prohibited Activities: You agree not to:

a. Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

b. Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

c. Transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

d. Engage in any activity that could disable, overburden, or impair the Portal or interfere with any other party’s use of the Portal.

e. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Portal, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Portal.

f. Use any automated means or scripts to access or collect information from the Portal.

Intellectual Property Rights

4.1. Ownership: The Portal and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by IAPAE and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

4.2. License: By submitting or posting any content on the Portal, you grant IAPAE a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, perform, and display such content in any media or format.

Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

5.1. Portal Availability: The Portal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties or representations, whether express or implied, regarding the Portal’s accuracy, reliability, availability, or suitability for your purposes.

5.2. Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, IAPAE and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers and/or partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in any way connected with your use or inability to use the Portal, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, regardless of whether IAPAE has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Modifications to the Terms

6.1. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised Terms on the Portal. By continuing to access or use the Portal after the changes, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

7.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction]. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Jurisdiction].
