Faculty & Membership Committee

The Faculty and Membership Committee of IAPAE is composed of volunteer members who oversee the IAPAE community of practice of faculty members. The Committee structures the IAPAE membership benefits, fees, terms and administration process. The Committee promotes recognition and involvement from all PA/PA Analogue educators and education programs.

Dr. Johnna Yealy, PhD, PA-C, is an accomplished clinician, educator, researcher, and leader in physician assistant education with a distinguished record of program development and professional service. She has developed and implemented three accredited PA programs — at Bethel University (TN), the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (Memphis, TN), and the University of Tampa (FL) — and is currently developing a new program at Lincoln Memorial University in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Clinically, Dr. Yealy’s experience spans mental health crisis counseling, trauma and intensive care nursing, and physician assistant practice in student health, emergency medicine, dermatology, and inpatient hospitalist medicine.

Dr. Yealy holds a PhD in Global Health Research and Education, where her dissertation focused on predictive analytics to identify at-risk PA students and promote diversity in the PA profession. She has presented her work regionally, nationally, and internationally, and her scholarly interests include health policy, workforce development, program evaluation, and innovations in PA education.

A decorated military professional, Dr. Yealy serves in the United States Army Reserves as a Physician Assistant with the rank of Major. She has twice served as President of the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants, contributed to the Physician Assistant Education Association’s Conference Committee, and served on statewide and national advisory boards, including the National Health Service Corps.

Dr. Yealy’s work has been published in peer-reviewed professional journals and supported by competitive grant funding, including the PAEA STAR grant. Her research has been presented at the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) workforce conferences.
