Advocacy, Representation and Faculty
IAPAE promotes the development and advancement of all global PA and PA Analogue education programs and advocates on behalf of all PA Faculty globally
The main activity of IAPAE is in supporting and promoting the global PA/PA Analogue education process with advocacy for global PA Faculty. IAPAE works with relevant local, country and international stakeholders to increase the recognition and relevance of PA/PA Analogue education. We have supported multiple countries to create the healthcare cadre and design the program curriculum. We have collaborated with partners in India, Australia, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Switzerland, Poland, and most recently in Kosovo.
There are estimated to be more than one million global clinical practitioners with over thirty-five different country practice titles representing this global health professional from the five geographic regions of the world including Africa, Asia, Europe and the UK, North, Central and South America and Oceania.
IAPAE is able to accomplish its mission, vision and aims through active involvement of the IAPAE Membership. We are able to advocate for all PA and PA Analogue Faculty and Educators through having you as members. Please consider joining IAPAE to be part of this global movement to promote PA and PA Analogue education.
The Advocacy, Representation and Faculty branch activities are organised and conducted by the Faculty and Membership Committee. There is opportunity to get involved with the committee to influence global PA education.
IAPAE has conducted educational surveys to inventory the global PA/PA Analogue programs for similarities and differences in content, delivery, assessments and exit outcomes. See Poster of Survey results presented at the IAPAE International Conference in 2018.
IAPAE will help your PA/PA Analogue program and educators to develop and mature in line with global evidence based education research and scholarly recommendations.
IAPAE, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, is developing international PA and PA Analogue educational standards
The WHO Global Competency and Outcomes Framework:
“The Global Competency and Outcomes Framework for Universal Health Coverage identifies the health worker competencies towards the achievement of UHC organized within six domains: people-centredness, decision-making, communication, collaboration, evidence-informed practice and personal conduct. It then provides guidance for educators to integrate the competencies for UHC into competency-based curricula organized around specified practice activities for individual- and population- health services, as well as management and organization practice activities as relevant. This framework has been developed through the lens of 12-48 month pre-service education pathways.”
