Election Description of Open Positions
IAPAE open posts for Board of Directors and Committee Chairs
The open Board of Director posts and Committee Chair posts are described below. Note, any role/responsibility is also dependent upon the needs of the organization and may change or evolve as decided by the Board, or proposed by the person filling the role, approved by the Board.
1. Board of Director position of President-Elect in Waiting
Any IAPAE member can nominate themselves or another member for this post. The IAPAE general membership will vote for one nominee to select one candidate. The Nominee with the most votes will become the President-Elect in Waiting.
Role & Responsibilities of President-Elect in Waiting
- The President-elect in Waiting shall shadow the President-Elect in their duties
- They will work under the authority of the President in learning the organisational structure and activitiesÂ
- They support the President and President-Elect in all official duties
- They will automatically become the President-Elect in the next election cycle (1-year), and thereafter in 1 year become the President, and thereafter in 1 year become the Immediate Past President, to serve a full four year term
- This position has a full vote as an Executive Team member of the Board of Directors
Board of Director positions of Regional Director
Any IAPAE member of the stated region can nominate themselves or another member for an open Regional Director post. If there are more than three nominees for this position, The IAPAE general membership will vote on three of the nominees to select three candidates. The three candidates with the most votes will be given to the Board of Directors to vote and appoint one of the three candidates as the Regional Director. Should there be less than three candidates, the candidate with the most votes will become the Regional Director.
The open Board of Director positions for Region Director include:
- Regional Director of Asia
- Regional Director of Europe and the United Kingdom
- Regional Director of North, Central and South America
- Regional Director of Oceania
Role & Responsibilities of a Regional Director
- Represent the geographic region of the position
- Liaison to the Board for the geographic region chapters, activities, events
- Support and advocate for the regional chapter educational mission, vision, aims in line with IAPAE mission, vision and aims
- Promote the core activities and strategic plan of the organization to the regional chapter
- Mentoring of future leadership roles in the region
- Follow direction from the Executive Team of the Board of Directors
- This position has a full vote as a Non-Executive Team member of the Board of Directors
3. Board of Director position of Student Board Member
Any IAPAE student member can nominate themselves or another student member. If there are more than three nominees for this position, The IAPAE general membership will vote on three of the nominees to select three candidates. The three candidates with the most votes will be given to the Board of Directors to vote and appoint one of the three candidates as the Student Board Member. Should there be less than three candidates, the candidate with the most votes will become the Student Board Member.
Role & Responsibilities of Student Board Member
- The Student Board member will represent the PA/PA Analogue student perspective
- They are responsible for building and organizing the IAPAE student membership
- They will build partnership with international PA/Analogue student associations
- Mentoring of future leadership roles in the student membership
- This position is a non-voting non-executive member of the Board of Directors
IAPAE open posts for Committee Chairs
Committee Chair open positions:
Any IAPAE member can nominate themselves or another member for this position. If there are more than three nominees for this position, the IAPAE general membership will vote on three of the nominees for each Committee Chair open position to select three candidates. The three candidates with the most votes will be given to the Board of Directors to vote and appoint one of the three candidates as the Chair of the designated Committee. Should there be less than three candidates, the candidate with the most votes will become the Committee Chair.
The open positions for Committee Chairs include:
Chair of Advocacy and Education Committee.
Terms of Reference for this Committee:
- Serve as the advocacy arm of IAPAE for promoting PA/PA Analogue educators and education programs, leading to best practices of health science education and clinical training
- Serve as a resource for teaching, learning and training of PA/PA Analogue educational programs
- Serve as the global accreditation body for PA/PA Analogue educational programs
Chair of Communications Committee.
Terms of Reference for this Committee:
- Serve as the main channel of communication for IAPAE organisation
- Present IAPAE to the global education community
- Maintain a repository of knowledge
Chair of Faculty and Membership Committee.
Terms of Reference for this Committee:
- Promote participation, collaboration and networking opportunities
- Design and incorporate membership benefits within the website
- Develop and maintain membership database
Chair of Innovations Committee.
Terms of Reference for this Committee:
- Promote innovation and readiness for the organisation
Chair of Research Committee
Terms of Reference for this Committee:
- Promote research of global impact and of international standard related to PA and PA Analogue education and practice
- Serve as scientific paper reviewers for IAPAE conferences
- Maintain a global repository of scientific papers
