Workshop #1: Application of LOOOP for Curriculum Mapping

Olaf Ahlers is a Professor for Educational Research in Health Sciences. He established the International LOOOP-Network for Educational Research since 2004. Currently, about 180 Health Science programs from 28 countries are mapped, analysed, modified or developed within this LOOOP network. One of his newest projects is support for IAPAE with analysis of the global PA/PA Analogue footprint for assessing education, curriculum mapping and competency outcomes leading to clinical practice.

Workshop #2: Research – Designing your Study

Dr. Alias Mahmud, a Senior Lecturer in Emergency Medicine at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, boasts a diverse career. Starting as a dedicated Medical Assistant in various Malaysian hospitals, he pursued advanced degrees, earning a Ph.D. in paramedical curriculum evaluation from UPM. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Mahmud has been instrumental in shaping healthcare curricula, serving as a curriculum consultant for multiple institutions. Recognized for his expertise, he’s appointed as a Member of the Accreditation Assessor Panel by the Malaysian Medical Assistants Board and the Malaysian Qualifications Board, focusing on Medical Assistants, Paramedics, Health Sciences, and Applied Sciences.

Workshop #3: Application of LOOOP for Curriculum Mapping

Professor David Fahringer retired on June 30, 2023 after 35 years as Associate Professor in the Physician Assistant Program, Department of Health Services, College of Health Sciences, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky (USA). Prof. Fahringer holds two undergraduate degrees and a master in Public Health. He also holds two professional degrees in radiology and as a Physician Assistant. Since 1994, he has been teaching in the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Kentucky until his retirement.
