Communication & Repository Committee
The Communication and Repository Committee made up of volunteers from the IAPAE membership oversees the communication aspect, social media (Website, Facebook, Twitter) and repository of knowledge (Blog, Updates, Newsletter, historical documents) of the organisation. The Committee meets regularly to disseminate relevant information and make timely communication updates related to all PA/PA Analogue education.
Committee Terms of Reference
- Serve as the main channel of communication for IAPAE organisation
- Present IAPAE to the global education community
- Maintain a repository of knowledge
Committee Objectives
- Promote and disseminate all forms of communication from IAPAE to stakeholders
- Promote and develop IAPAE related social media to be of professional standard
- Market and advertise IAPAE around globe
- Conduct quarterly webinars/events for all interested health science educators
- Create a database of all PA/PA Analogue educational related material to share globally as a repository of knowledge

Mary Showstark is a prominent physician assistant and an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) in the Yale Physician Assistant Online Program, where she has been a faculty member since 2017. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Florida, where she began her career in trauma surgery at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital, eventually becoming chief PA. With extensive clinical experience in trauma surgery, emergency medicine, and disaster preparedness, Showstark has provided medical care in various high-pressure environments, including Los Angeles, New York City, Haiti, and Nepal.
In addition to her clinical practice, Showstark is actively involved in PA education and global health initiatives. She has served as course director for multiple subjects at Yale and is the creator and chair of the Virtual IPE Committee, which has hosted over 80 universities across 30 countries for interprofessional education experiences. Her leadership extends to various organizations; she is a Vice President of Physician Assistants for Global Health, a global ambassador to AAPA, and a member of the International Academy of PA Educators.
Showstark’s commitment to improving healthcare access is evident in her work with remote communities and disaster response teams around the world. She has consulted with the World Health Organization on universal healthcare initiatives and is involved in projects addressing climate action within the PA community. Outside her professional endeavors, she enjoys traveling and has explored more than 100 countries across all seven continents.
