Nurhan Norris Ma Weng Chuen
Regional Director – Asia
Nurhan Norris holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medicine with Honors from National University of Malaysia, Diploma of Medical Assistant and Advanced Diploma in Emergency and Trauma Care from Ministry of Health Training Institute. Mr Nurhan is the Program Director and lecturer at Open University Malaysia since 2020 for the bachelor degree training of assistant medical officers (AMO). He is a certified and board registered AMO with the Medical Assistants Board, Ministry of Health, Malaysia, since 2006. He is a certified National Advance Care Responder in Pre-Hospital Care Services, a Clinical Officer for Malaysia Civil Defense Forces and a committee member for the Academic Bureau of the Malaysian Association of Medical Assistants.
Mr Nurhan completed his postgraduate in Disaster Risk Management from University of Technology Malaysia. He is also a certified Train the Trainer from The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Mr Nurhan is currently pursuing his doctorate at National Defense University of Malaysia. He has special interest in Emergency Medicine, Disaster Management particularly for civil-military coordination and online medical education. He believes in being a strong advocator for professional development among the AMOs in Malaysia to ensure that they are equipped with the latest knowledge, skills, and competencies required to meet the evolving demands of the healthcare industry.
