IAPAE Conference Abstract Submission Portal

  • Abstract Submissions Overview

The submission of Abstract for the IAPAE Conference is now closed. The deadline was extended until 31 May, 2024. We hope to provide results of acceptance of submission by 15 June, 2024.

IAPAE welcomes the submission of Abstracts for the following categories of Presentations to occur during the 3-day IAPAE conference:

  • Oral Scientific Paper Presentation
  • Poster Scientific Presentation
  • PechaKucha Presentation
  • Palaver “stories under the tree” (also called Campfire Presentations) and
  • Workshops

Abstract Presentations submitted for one of these five categories should align with the Conference Theme: “Can global physician associate (PA) and PA comparable education adapt to the changing world? Responding with Collaboration, Innovation and Mutual Respect” and fall under one of the five Tracks, including:

  1. Global PA education changing to global needs
  2. Artificial Intelligence and digital literacy in PA education
  3. International ethical competencies for PA educators and students
  4. Crossing international borders for PA education and clinical practice
  5. Developing international curricula and accreditation standard

Ideally the Abstract has links to PA and PA Analogue health science education and clinical practice.

Structure of the five Presentations during the conference:

  • Oral Scientific Paper Presentations will be a 12 minute presentation by the author followed by 3 minutes for questions for a scientific research study
  • Poster Scientific Presentation will be the authors standing by their scientific research poster for delegates to walk around, view and ask questions for 15 minutes, followed by a facilitated group discussion of the posters with the authors and delegates for 10 minutes related to a Conference Track. Posters will also be open for viewing throughout the conference.
  • PechaKucha Presentation is a 6 minute 40 second presentation by the author with 20 power point slides, each slide set to display for 20 seconds, automatically moving to the next slide without text, including only images or photos to tell the story along with the narration. The presentation is followed by 6 minutes for questions and discussion. The PechaKucha is meant to provoke thought, imagination, humour or insight and can be any topic related to the Conference Theme and/or Tracks. More info at PechaKucha website.
  • Palaver “stories under the tree” (also called Campfire Presentations) is a 10 minute presentation by the author followed by 5 minutes for discussion and questions. The presentation can be any situation, experience, idea, activity or story by the author related to the Conference Theme and/or Tracks. This can single or multiple presenters.
  • Parallel Workshops are 1 hour 30 minutes long providing hands-on experience for delegates to learn from the workshop facilitator(s) on any relevant practical educational activity.

The Abstract submission for the presentations should follow the Conference Theme and/or Tracks and be relevant for global PA and PA Analogue education.

The Abstract online submission portal has been extended until 31 May, 2024. The IAPAE Conference Scientific Committee will review Abstract submissions from 1-6 June. Announcement for acceptance of Abstracts for Presentation at the Conference will be delivered by email on 7 June, 2024.

The slides only have images or photos, with no words, as the story comes from the speaker. There are 20 slides, at 20 seconds per slide, for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds for the presentation. The word “PechaKucha” is Japanese for “chit chat.” Learn more about PechaKucha.
